A Rural Journal: {Who am I to disagree?}

Nesting Texture by Kim Klassen / Sioux Texture by Nancy Claeys

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Did you have a good weekend?

We received a few inches of snow over the weekend,
but today, it's warmer --
the  birds are singing (I think I heard a robin!)
which has got me dreaming of spring
and fragrant cherry blossoms.

Did Winter Storm Q pay you a visit?
Or has spring arrived early
in your neck of the woods?

: : :

Oh, and I have to tell you...
I'm kinda excited because

I've created my first texture of 2013 --
called Sioux.

If you subscribe to my (new) newsletter,
you have already received the link to
my texture download page, which includes
this new texture named after
our sweet German Shepherd girl.

Not on the list?
Then you are missing out on a weekly new texture
provided by yours truly.

But that's no problem-o.

: : :

Stay tuned for another blog-related announcement
coming soon.

I hope will like it.

In the meantime,
I'm wishing you and yours a wonderful week ahead!

  1. The bird song I hear in the mornings is what makes me get up at all - because otherwise I´m SO tired of the snow... However; today the sun was up really early so I can feel spring on it´s way! :-)

  11. This images just calls to the ebb of desire for the next, slightly warmer season. I fear, however, that it will be just as wet as our winter has been. Loads of rain, little bit of snow - but I'm not complaining.

  20. This is such a peaceful, beautiful image! (How did I miss the info about the texture list? I thought I was on it originally, but I didn't get the message. Then again, my ISP changed their e-mail system and it was almost two months before I found out that a bunch of my messages were stuck in webmail quarantine!) I'm signed up now.

  21. This is beautiful! :) And it's frosty out there this am. Twenty nine degrees. Very unusual for OR at the end of February! I hope this doesn't kill the daffodils that are close to opening...

  31. We are bracing for another storm. As I look out my window, I'm dreading to go pick up the boy child from school. We can leave them there right?
I'm so ready for some sun. Makes my heart happy.
Beautiful texture. If only I had the talent to apply it :)

  32. We had some ice last week that knocked our power out for a day, but thankfully it melted the next day since it got warmer. Might get some more wintry weather this week. I am so ready for spring!

  35. I adore cherry blossoms and this is beautiful Nancy! No snow here, obviously, but the Texas panhandle did get 19 inches, crazy, and we got tropical force winds...no storm just winds. But spring is springing here and that makes me -----> :D

  36. Lovely photo image -- Like how there is a faded yellow color circle to the left of the image - sweet -- the whole image is nicely done..

  37. A very pretty texture. I don't now anything about making textures, so I have some learning to do! :-) I am looking forward to spring, too--but today, we have cold rain in my part of Virginia.

  43. Beautiful capture! Here winter has all but disappeared and we are gearing up for a hot and humid Indian summer. Have a lovely week ahead Nancy :)

  44. No spring here in SE Idaho. We got another storm. But since we get so many no one notices or cares to give out names. The snowplow finally came by this morning although we'd been out and about long before in our 4-wheel-drive Subaru. Preparation makes a difference. We're prepared for snow but not heat. Your new texture is a stunner,

  45. Talk about a contrast from your previous post ! Lovely dream, though. (and those dream-cicles were worth grabbing the camera for, too !).

Getting a touch of 'winter' this weekend in Florida - lows in the upper 30s and highs in the upper 60s. Spring breakers will not be impressed (if they notice, that is).

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wonderful, thanks so much for the texture.

    ReplyDelete
  47. We're still in the snow - looking forward to the sunshine and birdsong.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It was in the 80's and muggy. Today we had rain and now comes the cooler weather...yay! I like the sun shining and high of 60. That's a perfect day to me. :)
    Hope your week is great!

  49. We are expecting 70s and sun this weekend. Yay! I do miss living where it snows, though! The cherry blossoms are lovely! I'm signing up for your textures! Thank you!

  52. *Sigh* No sign of spring just more and more snow. I love your new texture very soft and spring like. I popped over to say howdy and see what you were up to and your doggy post that follows this one is also cool. I never realized there could be a problem with rawhide but duh, now that I think about it it seems obvious. Love your kids picture and happy to hear they approve of both flavors!
