I LOVE that quote, Nancy, and it is so TRUE. One of the good things about getting older is that you finally learn some important truths...at least some of us do. :)
so true nancy...i have this in my life, one person and i can't let go. it's a heavy weigh, you need to be a very strong person to carry it, and to let it go!!
Thank you for such wonderful words of wisdom today......so very true...We really free ourselves when we forgive others.... Love the photo and your processing...
I really felt your post in my heart Nancy. Forgiveness is so hard sometimes and just when you think you have it something will happen that brings the anger and bitterness back to the forefront. It is a challenge each day! Hope you have been well while I was absent from the blogging scene these past few months? Missed you and your posts a lot! I hope this is going to be a better year for me and I will find the time to visit and post more often! Tina xo
This is a difficult one to deal with Nancy. I have found that if we give it time, forgiving may be easier then. But yes, do it for yourself first, then move forward.
First...absolutely LOVELY image and editing, Nancy! Second....wonderful words, truly spoken. Third...didn't you have an earlier post about not forgiving? Is this a changed view or.... ;-)
what's more difficult is when someone won't accept an apology leaving everything sorta up in the air. I've found out, the hard way, all we can do is apologize, as forgiveness and move on. I hate dwelling on negative stuff and have said good-bye to "friends" because I found out they only had tolerance when I agreed with them. When I disagreed, they weren't tolerant. So be it. Head 'em up and move 'em out! -grin-
years ago a teacher in high school said all you can do is apologize and ask for forgiveness. Then it is in the court of the forgivee...you have done all you can do.( hopefully sincerely) If they choose not to , or to forgive, that is that.
So many things in life could be resolved if forgiveness was accepted and acknowledged. This makes me even more grateful for the true forgiveness offered by God...

It is hard to do, but that quote sums it up perfectly. You are a prisoner if you can't let go of the bitterness.
