To date, I've received three holiday cards from Norway, Texas and Virginia.
From three lovely women I've never met in person.
Yet, I consider them good friends.
The true meaning of the season.
Unselfish acts that demonstrate the good that is present in most people.
I cannot effectively say how much I appreciate their kindness.
Especially this week.
Especially this week.

ReplyDeleteOh Dear Nancy I just want to give you a big hug. {{HUG}} I love cards from people I never met I received one from Tasmania and one from Nebraska this week and I am still smiling. {{Hug}} again. B
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt's the small gestures that matter. I'm happy that your heart is smiling - it makes me smile, too. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeletesince all of my 2012 photos are stuck on my old computer that won't stay on, looks like I'll be doing cards the old fashioned way once again! I hope Santa never goes high-tech, and if he does he better hire some elves from the Geek Squad,Ha!! I'm happy you are getting special cards and they are making you smile. You give us so much to smile about on your blog every day, this kindness is well-deserved!! Enjoy the holidays Miss Nancy and keep your homestead warm and cozy for your family!!
ReplyDeleteHow nice!
ReplyDeleteIn this land of immediate-gratification social media, it is wonderful what the simple, old-fashioned Christmas can do for one's mood. Today is my day to put the final edits on our Christmas letter (not one of those shameful, bragging ones), scribble notes in each card, and hand address all the envelopes. I think it's the simple act of doing this by HAND that helps make receiving a card so special.
ReplyDeleteYes. We are united in grace, kindness and love. Face to face or not...our hearts tell and mail from afar from friends we haven't met- seeing their written words sign a note or card. Sweet!
ReplyDeletei got a similar packet of love from the midwest yesterday. it made my heart full.
ReplyDeleteGetting Christmas cards is so exciting, isn't it? I love your picture. Beautiful. Wishing you the happiest of seasons. Love, Becky
ReplyDeleteAfter what's happened, I just want to stay close to and appreciate all my friends and family. Sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove & Love,

ReplyDeleteSpecial moments that remind us of the kindness and joy still found in unexpected ways.
ReplyDeleteI like the little clothespin and string way your cards are hanging.
So much tenderness in this post, Nancy. Thank you for sharing the lovely photo and thoughts. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteHugs from Ohio,
I.
The giving/receiving of Christmas cards is my favorite thing about the season. I love catching up with friends far and near.
ReplyDeleteSweet Christmas cards from good people. Wonderful. My heart is smiling too. Thank you for sharing this post, Nancy. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so nice and it reminds me of way back when I was in grade school and had pen pals all over the world. It was always so wonderful to get letters from far off. Life was so different then. Sigh....
ReplyDeleteReceiving cards in the mail from friends does the heart good! Lovely!

How sweet! There is something special about getting a card in the mailbox... Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #61!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely - it is nice to get mail through the post isn't it? Especially when it makes your heart smile - I just love that phrase :))
ReplyDeleteLovely way of sharing and connecting!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a special gift. So thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for wondering about my lateness in posting dailies. I got a little behind with the Christmas stuff (parties and such at church), but am well. Just becoming a bit exhausted from all the "stuff." This is the part of the season I don't like. I want the simplicity of remembering the reason for the season with quiet celebration. But, again, I'm fine and am hoping you and your family have a blessed Christmas.
How sweet! I love getting holiday cards :) One of my favorite things about Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI do think bloggy people are some of the nicest in the world!
