A rude awakening.

Today, the pussy willows are convinced it's March and are putting forth numerous buds.

I clipped a few to bring in the house to see if they will bloom.

Tomorrow night, we are likely to receive around six inches of snow (yay!)

The wood is stacked neatly inside the house and we have plenty
of food and good reading material, should the winds come up
and make travel difficult.

It will be our first measurable snowfall, any precipitation really,
since Fall 2011.

Let it snow!

  2. I'm with the pussy willows, let it be March! Six inches of snow!! It's so very pretty, as long as you can stay home, or it just stays on the grass. I'm glad you love it though.

  6. The only thing we're collecting wood for around here is to build an ark - we've had rain, rain, rain and just for good measure, a little more ... rain!

Hope you have a cozy, warm, and deliciously white few days.

  18. We've had years like that. We didn't have a winter last year and everything was blooming in January. Needless to say, our pecan crop was awful this year, so the wintering birds will have little extra "stuff" to eat. I may have to supplement with peanuts. Have fun in the snow.
