I think it's an awesome idea to go back and review your photographs from the past month or so.
It not only evokes special memories, but also gives you an opportunity to think about what your goals are with respect to your art.
Yes, I said it.
Art.
Art.
Whether you realize it or not, your photographs are special, unique, a reflection of you --
Take some to to go back and look what you've accomplished and how you would like to improve.
Because growth is a good thing.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you Nancy, I am compiling a photo book just now - I did one for my China photos and really love it. This photo book will be of my best-ish photos from the last few years so I am going over some really old photos. It is really amazing to see how my photography has changed and improved over the last 4 years,and its lovely to revisit the places I have been, and the memories the photos bring back. I still have a lot to learn about photography its a wonderful Art hobby:) Love your photos :)

I've done something similar at the end of the year, but never at the end of a month - good idea. And I agree - it is always good to see where one's artistic direction has ventured.

ReplyDeleteNancy, great photos and wonderful thoughts here! I have so many photos to look at, edit, and post from the recent past. Time has been a problem lately. But going way back to revisiting what I shot when I first began has always been a real eye-opening. I find myself asking myself, over and over, why in the world did I shoot this photo that way?! What was I thinking?! A true learning experience!

ReplyDeleteA month is good and for a good reason. Actually though I'm doing about 25 year worth of old Ectachrome slides gradually converting them to digital. Eventually a copy on a flash stick will go to my son as a Christmas present. You know baby pictures, first big fish, high school football and basketball etc...:)
