The leaves have fallen, the skies are cloudy and cold,
and the few blooms remaining are dry and fading.
What happened to my long-awaited visitor, my favorite season -- Autumn?
Seems you just arrived
and already,
you are leaving me.
I wish you could stay just a little while longer.

Autumn is ready to take a long journey before it will come back again.
ReplyDeleteThe last flowers are the proof that autumn leave and we will get ready for winter.Thank you for hosting !

Hush... slipping and sliding weather is just around the corner. Apparently Ms.Sandy is on the way to ensure we're drenched.
ReplyDeleteThe only colours we'll have to enjoy will be from birds and sun casting shadows over the landscape.
I think I'll put some fake flowers outdoors and just pretend for a little while longer.
We are just now getting pleasantly cool and everything around me is still mostly green.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant October has left the door open for chill November to take up residence....
ReplyDeleteMust have been raised in a barn!
Beautiful image, Nancy! Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLindas flores que ainda restam...beijos,tudo de bom, chica

ReplyDeleteOh Nancy I am sorry you missed Fall you have had one heck of a year. Next year will be better I am sure. B
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have much of an Autumn here. I've had to get my color fix on the internet and it's not quite the same.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors and depth of field. The texture adds a bit of elegance.
These are fabulous! On my extended blogging break, reading your blog& seeing your photos was one of the things I missed the most!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful !!..have a nice sunday...love and blessings from me darling...xxx..
ReplyDeleteYour images are ALWAYS amazing Nancy.
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like Autumn is whizzing past here in the UK too, last week trees had most of their leaves today they are shedding them rapidly.
Enjoy you day.

If you keep posting photos with lovely textures, you just MIGHT cause me to open PS and see what I can do!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteI said, 'Autumn, don't go!' Slipping away alright....in a few days after the side-effects of Hurricane Sandy (way to the south of us) there won't be a leaf to be seen on the trees here. What can we do,.....
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Nancy! Love your new look!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed the orange, but our leaves didn't change and now they will be blown away. As ever, a lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteI really love this shot- the color and composition is just perfect! Thank you for sharing-
ReplyDeletewe were 35 degrees when i went out to the barn this morning (once the sun was coming up) so with us getting our first frost already, i'm sure you've frozen by now! definitely seems early.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid it is going to be a long, cold, and snowy winter this year.
ReplyDeleteI love autumn, too. While I like winter, I always wish autumn could stick around a bit longer.
ReplyDeletehi! Stopping by from the Simple as That link-up. I love that photo and I love autumn, we just started feeling fall around these parts, so I hope it sticks around for a little while!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty with your texture!
ReplyDeleteFall is still here in CT, Nancy but with Sandy on her way, the remaining leaves & blooms will vanish!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeletethis is such a lovely picture, nancy!
ReplyDeleteas fall is winding down, winter is coming to quickly i think...
have a great sunday!
xx
ooh, and i've just saved some of your textures.
ReplyDeletethey are all BEAUTIFUL!
That's the way I felt when the leaves froze on the trees while still green and dropped to the ground. However, in many surrounding areas, fall flourished, as did the colors. I just needed to get into my car and travel a little. Lovely, lovely flower image, Nancy. (Thank you for the texture!)
ReplyDeleteI think autumn has to be the shortest season in the year.
ReplyDeletePretty flowers!
Glad to see you creating more textures!
ReplyDeletebeautiful shot, love the processing!
ReplyDeleteYour mums are still pretty, but I know what you mean about the fading autumn. It seems to have come and gone in such a short time this year.
ReplyDeletethank you for the textures. I've downloaded two so far. we're having a cold Spring with rainy days. doesn't feel like Autumn! but I guess we where lucky with the sunny day yesterday, we had a very pleasant photographic tour outside Porto :) if I find Autumn I'll let him know you miss him. xxo
ReplyDeleteLove!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and picture...have a wonderful week! Blessings, Nancy
ReplyDeleteAutumn has just arrived to Oregon a few days ago. Today we are having a visit from the (very wet) Pineapple Express. lol There are no more yellow, hay-like patches on our lawn. All clover and gorgeous green! The foliage hasn't peaked yet. That usually happens at the very beginning of November. But there is vivid, happy yellow in every corner! Love your posts!
ReplyDeleteGosh - autumn is gone here, too - I always wave a sad goodbye, though I do love the white, too. Your photo is wonderful. I'll try to figure out the download. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhere did fall go indeed? It is my favorite too and it is gone in the blink of an eye. Well...I guess if we are good, it will come back next year. ;)
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
I know! It feels like it only lasted a couple of weeks :(
ReplyDeleteLots of rain and forties for me for eight straight days. Yuk!
Autumn will be back as an interlude between winter storms.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I know what you mean about fall. Didn't last long here either!
ReplyDeleteI love autumn, even named my daughter after it. It'd be fine with me if autumn lasted all year. Your photo is pretty. Hope you are staying warm.
ReplyDeleteThey still look lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are lovely even though they are a little faded. We are still waiting for fall around here...
ReplyDeleteStill pretty though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo.
