Slip-Sliding Away.

Free Sandie Texture (See Box.net widget in footer area)

The leaves have fallen, the skies are cloudy and cold,
and the few blooms remaining are dry and fading.

What happened to my long-awaited visitor, my favorite season -- Autumn?

Seems you just arrived
and already,
you are leaving me.

I wish you could stay just a little while longer.

Sharing with The Simple Things, Sunday Snapshot

I've added a Box.net download widget to my footer to make it easier for my texture-loving friends
to access my free textures.

Enjoy.

  3. Hush... slipping and sliding weather is just around the corner. Apparently Ms.Sandy is on the way to ensure we're drenched.

The only colours we'll have to enjoy will be from birds and sun casting shadows over the landscape.

I think I'll put some fake flowers outdoors and just pretend for a little while longer.

  13. We didn't have much of an Autumn here. I've had to get my color fix on the internet and it's not quite the same.

Beautiful colors and depth of field. The texture adds a bit of elegance.

  18. I said, 'Autumn, don't go!' Slipping away alright....in a few days after the side-effects of Hurricane Sandy (way to the south of us) there won't be a leaf to be seen on the trees here. What can we do,.....

  30. That's the way I felt when the leaves froze on the trees while still green and dropped to the ground. However, in many surrounding areas, fall flourished, as did the colors. I just needed to get into my car and travel a little. Lovely, lovely flower image, Nancy. (Thank you for the texture!)

  37. Autumn has just arrived to Oregon a few days ago. Today we are having a visit from the (very wet) Pineapple Express. lol There are no more yellow, hay-like patches on our lawn. All clover and gorgeous green! The foliage hasn't peaked yet. That usually happens at the very beginning of November. But there is vivid, happy yellow in every corner! Love your posts!

  38. Gosh - autumn is gone here, too - I always wave a sad goodbye, though I do love the white, too. Your photo is wonderful. I'll try to figure out the download. Thank you.

  39. Where did fall go indeed? It is my favorite too and it is gone in the blink of an eye. Well...I guess if we are good, it will come back next year. ;)
