Leaves for Leontien

October is National Breast Cancer Month.

With that in mind, I think it is an appropriate time to again
show our fellow blogger and farm gal, Leontien,
how much we care and are thinking of her
and her awesome hubby, Bastiaan,
during this difficult time.

Leontien is battling an aggressive form of melanoma (see an update to her status here,) and your support and continued participation in this new event would be very much appreciated.

We want to show Leontien that her blogging community is {still} there for her -- by posting Autumn Leaves photos and {{hugs}} for Leontien on our blogs.

If you are interested in participating in this event, you may post a link to your blog post below. This will provide Leontien with a list of the blogs that are participating, if she is up to visiting them.

A "Leaves For Leontien" button is available below.

If you know of other bloggers you think would like to participate in this event, please feel free to send them an email or private message including the link to this page.

If you have any questions, you may send an email to me. Thank you for your help.

...a big Thank You to Buttons for having such a big heart and coming up with the original "Flowers for Leontien" event.

  33. Leaves for Leontien

The storm shook their outstretched arms
    Rainbows fell from finger-like branches
    Along with pinecones and acorns
To settle quietly upon another autumn dawn

I reach with my outstretched arms
Offering the most gentlest of touches
To offer and receive the courage
To settle quietly upon another autumn dawn

The storm shakes and rattles, sways arms
That reach for eyes to protect ourselves
From those flying things, some gentle wings of moths
to settle quietly upon another autumn dawn

    JP/davh

I don't remember how I found you last time (I left a verse then too)...and am glad to have done so perhaps down a different path this time... I still haven't figured out photography with computers yet. Please pass this verse on to Leontien.
