A few of the bloomers in and around the farmyard in late June.

It's been very hot lately, and humid -- so twice daily watering is not uncommon.

Hollyhock.

Asiatic Lily.

Clasping Coneflower.

Moss Rose.

Day Lily.

Nasturtium.

Peppermint Zinnia.

These photographs were taken about an hour before sunset with my 50 mm lens on auto with camera exposure increased +0.7 to allow more light. Photos were shot in RAW mode.

The following settings were tweaked in Picmonkey

Crop, Exposure, Sharpen, Clarity;

These filters were applied in Picmonkey:

HDR and Daguerreotype at 80% fade;

Barb Texture applied in Pixlr @ 100% Overlay,
with texture erased from main flower bloom.

    I don't live in a rural area, but I sometimes get to photograph rural parts of New Jersey. There's a lot of beauty here to share.

  25. At least you have some blooms to photograph - I ventured around the neighborhood the other morning and it seemed everything has been eaten up by the bugs. (and my neighbor with the sunflowers moved - so sad; guess I'll have to plant my own). Love your first shot especially.

  37. oh these are beautiful nancy!! we are in for some intense heat through the weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  38. All these flowers are just gorgeous, Nancy. I have lived most of my life in either Arizona or Texas, where the heat and sun are so intense that we rarely have yard flowers much later than May. Nasturtium has always been one of my favorites and they bloom here in Texas in very early spring, and of course petunias rarely survive through June. Even our daylilies are all gone by now!

  39. Gorgeous flowers n love the edits you made to them.
