I like that kind of p0inted eave (I don't know what the correct name is). I wonder what it is for - but I am guessing it is decorative rather than strictly functional.
Lovely old barns. I love the way that the timbers haven't all weathered at the same rate and so the colours are just blending into each other! Thanks Joan
Wonderful barn shot! Whenever I see a great looking barn, I think: Gee...Nancy should get a picture of this one! You have me really "looking" at and "seeing" all of the barns in my neck of the woods...thanks!
Nancy...This is a beautiful picture. Your processing with the texture is awesome. Maybe one of these days I will get there. You and Kim and all the other girls are such an inspiration for me. Happy Week. genie
Good Morning Nancy! What a gorgeous barn...and I LOVE that roof and the peak for bringing the hay up to the loft. Oh and of course the cupola. I really need one of those on our chicken coop or corn crib ;) I hope your day is a good one...Maura :)
First I would like to assure Jenny Woolf that that pointed eave (as she called it) is not decorative. It serves a very useful purpose. Hay and other large items can be hauled into the barns loft by hooking a chain/rope and pulley to that jutted our area.
Nancy, Lovely barn. it has been a long while since I have seen a barn with this design in our area. The last one I knew about was rehabbed and turned into a very original home a few years ago.
what a gorgeous shot! I love the softness and the colors. I love barns like this, so interesting, and I feel like they have so much story behind them. Thank you so much for linking it up to Love Bug!
