She's a beautiful sculpture, Nancy. I see you brought some special images back from Omaha with you. I'll have to miss Rural Thursday this week....we're leaving on a short trip in the morning. We're going to visit the fossil beds here in Eastern Oregon (first visit for us!)...and I hope to have some interesting images myself.

ReplyDeleteI love reading books about early settlers. They always seem so tough and yet romantic. I wonder how it was to them, to be striking out across what was to become Nebraska, it must have felt like the end of the universe after their small European countries.

Love that bronze... have you ever read any of the diaries of women (and men too for that matter) who traveled across the plains in the wagon trains? Quite interesting... I'm convinced they're much hardier people than I am...
