Rural Thursday #12

Look what the hubby brought up from the creek this past weekend!
Obviously, someone didn't see the beauty in this old girl, and
tossed it in the trash heap.

Isn't it gorgeous? A vintage birdbath, circa 1950's, I'm estimating.

The kids could hardly wait to try out their new water dish.

*Sigh*

  37. People throw out the most useful stuff.. ah guess that saying holds true 'One man's junk is another man's treasure!' Your hubby found a gem! Love it, and of course the pups have to have the first drink.. my cats broke the bowl on my either drinking or trying to catch birds... probably the latter.

  40. Lovely find! Glad to see it being put to use so quickly :-).
You inquired about where I live - in the cornfields of East Central Illinois, aka the flat prairie land. Over the past 10 years of living here, I've come to appreciate the subtle beauty of the prairie. Thanks for the compliments on my blog!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I can't believe someone threw that away! Their loss, your gain. I guess it's really the dogs' gain! LOL!!

  42. Hi Nancy, love the post and the bird bath. I would love to have one, but JD allows our cattle to roam the entire place and anytime I have something decorative or fun outside they tear it up. lol.. Nothing like looking out and seeing the bull knock over your metal bench. *smiles* I'll have to remember about it and try hard to post something on Thrusdays. Have a blessed day! my friend. *hugs*
