Or as the French say, la dernière tulipe.
That would be an awesome name for a foreign film.
Who am I kidding? I'm sure it's already been done.
Anyway, this was the last tulip in the yard that had yet to bloom.
Since it was blowing a gale this weekend, I made the executive decision
to bring it inside.
I can't believe most of the daffodils and tulips are now on the wane.
Seems as if they just started pushing through the grass.
There's a lesson in there somewhere.

Sharing with Texture Tuesday, Sweet Shot Tuesday,

This is stunning! It looks like a painting. I'd be proud to have it hanging in my home.
ReplyDeleteThis is by far one of the prettiest ways I've seen you use your made editing skillz and textures. It has a dreamlike quality that jumps out and grabs me.
ReplyDeleteLike most things in life, whatever the lesson, it'll be slow to come. Hope whatever the lesson is, it sneaks up on you and takes your breath away with its brilliance.
tulips is one of my favourite flowers!
ReplyDeletei love it when tulip petals open all the way out.
this is such a dream-like photo, my sweet friend!
very nicely done:)
xo
the lesson is 'savor the moment'
ReplyDeleteOR....go with the executive decision, take a lovely photo and edit it in the most beautiful of ways. Then share it with us. To savor and love.
It looks like a painting that should be in the Louvre (i'm sure I spelled that wrong)
ReplyDeleteso soft and beautiful ..love it
ReplyDeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteHi...I'm hopping over from the A to Z challenge. Lovely blog...good luck with the challenge!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo - and tulips are always among my favourite flowers!
ReplyDeleteTruly a work of ART! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty....love your new look
ReplyDeletelovely image...our tulips are just starting to peek out...its been a cold spring!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic. They are so fleeting. But I enjoy seeing them reemerge each year :-)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning. Just like always.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo. Daffodils started fading here by the first of April, and the tulips already are starting to decline. Everything started before I could really get in the spring sort of mindset.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece of work, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteMy tulips are still growing, and we have such strong and cold wind these past few days.
Love that image Nancy. We had strong winds here yesterday, it was a little crazy.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a ghostly image...yet really soothing if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had anything bloom yet but they're almost there!
beautiful! I'd love to have that hanging on my wall...the expression in your photos is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI blinked and my tulips were gone! :)
Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteGood job on the executive decision!
Here as well although the black purple tulips are just now blooming. Tempus Fugit but it seems it's flying by at a much faster rate than it used to fly by.
ReplyDeletebeautiful . . .
ReplyDeletePretty header today! I smell springtime. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt sure does look like a painting. How beautiful and delicate.
ReplyDeleteHaha, yep, sounds like the title of a French film, or a good book.
So delicate and so soft, just like a painting. Good thing you brought it in.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day Nancy:)
Stunning shot! It is hard to believe they are almost gone.
ReplyDeleteI always hate to say goodbye to them. Each year I plant tons, almost in competition with my neighbor where we can find some extra room.Pella Iowa has a festival that is real fun to attend in May.I wonder how many they will have.
ReplyDeleteLovely tulip, and the picture conveys the sadness of "the last tulip" I'm trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge Blogs this month.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful editing. Such a pretty shot...
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are done?? Course a gale force will would do them in regardless. Talking to MaryBeth up in Stanwood WA, she mentioned that the tulip fields are still not quite in bloom... good thing I can't go until the 21st... love your shot and the texture too!
ReplyDeleteFantastic job, Nancy! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteLooks just like a watercolor. :o)
ReplyDeleteThis beautiful, I would have the same thing. Treasure you're last tulip!
ReplyDeletebeautiful picture! The Last Tulip sounds like a great title:)

So dreamy!! Looks like a painting!
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous. It does look like a painting. I am going to have to learn how to do textures. Do you use Photoshop? I'd never be able to learn to use that, plus I can't afford it.
ReplyDeleteThat is such an elegant photo. sandie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. . .and the photo means that the last tulip never fades. Good executive decision! Truly gorgeous shot with perfect effects. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful Nancy!
ReplyDeleteSo sad...it's like lilacs. Boom..then done.
ReplyDeleteI love the softness of this texture. I'm off to check out your other blogs. I promise I'm not stalking...I just like your work. :)
so soft and pretty!!! I love tulips! Thanks for sharing at Tips & Pics!
ReplyDeleteNancy, Your use of texture is so beautiful. And yes, there is a lesson which I tend to think about a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love it. It is like a whisper, do you know how I mean:)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully soft and oh so feminine. Love this image. Too, I love your new blog page layout. Very pretty, Nancy. :)
ReplyDeleteSo mysterious as if it were hiding. Beautiful. V
ReplyDeleteThis tulip image is stunning! So beautiful!
ReplyDeletevery pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteYour last tulip is just lovely! The tulips are just starting to bloom here, but they're about a month early as is everything else.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful evening!
I really like how the vase just fades away. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe spring was just here last week and all bloomed and turned green. And now it's snowing. Boooooo :(
ReplyDeleteThe lesson? The lesson is..."life is too short" Nancy...:)JP
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Mine had just began blooming and it was too windy to get many good shots. When I went back out the next day... something ate all the blooms off!! :)
ReplyDeletewow....the processing on this is fabulous. It looks as though it's fading into the most beautiful dreamy haze.
ReplyDeletebeautiful
ReplyDeleteWhy must their presence be so shortlived. Iris and tulips are so lovely, but they are finished, much to soon.
ReplyDeleteNice what you did with it : )
ReplyDeletei still have some beauties!!
ReplyDeletethe hubs planted mid and late bloomers.....the late bloomers (like us) are still pretty!!
i forgot to say the tulip is pretty!! sometimes, it's all about me ;)))
ReplyDeleteWe have tulips; correction HAD tulips growing all around the grounds at the office. They plant them to coincide with the annual meeting. Mother Nature fooled management this year and they are almost all gone...the annual meeting is next week. What a wacky season!!! BTW, you might want to take that 'The Last Tulip' thing and run with it. I googled the title and only came up with photos. Time to write a screen play I believe!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! My tulips are just starting to bloom. We have had a very late spring. They are such a splendid flower. Thank you for sharing this awesome photo. Connie :)
