Words cannot describe the thrill of hearing this bird's song
as I drive the country roads, searching for barns.
I have been very busy these past few days,
planting, organizing, painting, repurposing.
I will be responding to comments
as soon as I can.
But, it's another gorgeous
Spring day in eastern Nebraska,
so I will likely be outside, doing what a farmwife
is wont to do when the weather is cooperating.
Happy Friday, my friends!

Good for you dear Nancy! Spring is for being out : )
ReplyDeleteI am a terrible blogger lately. But yes. Too many other things to do and although Spring takes it really slowly here, there are things to be done. Have fun, love from Norway <3

ReplyDeleteI used to see meadowlarks when I was a child - haven't seen or heard one in years. Thanks, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteReally nice composition. Thanks for including the recording of its voice. I know I've heard this before but seeing how small it is here, I'll bet it's one of the birds I rarely see because of all the leaves.
ReplyDeletewhat a tiny little bird. so cute. love the view. (:
ReplyDeleteI loved the bird recording!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you shared this. I just took a picture of a bird that looked exactly like that and wondered what it was! Very beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI always get uber excited when a wild bird lands on my frontyard's fence...Especially if they start singing! I always take pictures of them. Removal Company
ReplyDeleteNice capture...this bird will wake you up for sure!
ReplyDeleteWe always have so many birds singing at the same time... it's a choir on any given day. Love the meadowlark's lovely trill.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy being outside Nancy, we had a pretty day yesterday until the evening when the rain and thunderstorms hit again. I like to sit outside and let my little dog enjoy the fresh air and get some exercise. I love to also sit outside or inside and hear all the birds sing. I tried a birdfeeder for awhile until the cattle decided to bang it around getting to the birdseed. lol. So down it came. Have a great day! Love and Blessings!
ReplyDeletei love these skittish prairie-loving birds. :) enjoy your spring!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite birds! Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteWas just north of you a bit yesterday, went to the Old Home Keep On Truckin Cafe. This bird was one of my first to imitate its call and always greets me when out on the prairie.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Friday Nancy!!
ReplyDeleteDon't work too hard!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture :)
ReplyDeleteThe Western Meadowlark is Oregon's state bird, but I don't see --or hear--so many of them these days. On a drive in the country a while back, I did find one, which was exciting. Now to see if I can get a photograph.
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me want to get out and go for a drive :)
