I edited the same image using my Helene and Emily textures.
I totally forgot to record my steps before I flattened the image. Doy.

The wife of my ex-brother-in-law (my sister's ex) fell to her death during a hike in the Grand Canyon on Sunday. She was an experienced hiker and climber and led hiking tours in the canyon on a regular basis.
I had never met her, but only in her 20s when she died, it caused me to pause and reflect on some of the significant experiences I would have missed, had I met a similar fate.

What a terrible freak accident! Today, my longtime college friend started radiation for 14 brain lesions...."travelers" from the breast (and liver) cancer tumors she has had 30 chemo treatments for in the past 11 months. I cried when I read her message to me. Even at 69, we would miss significant experiences. (Your daisy and texture treatment....absolutely beautiful. Thank you for the wonderful new textures, too. Hope to try them soon....but my 91-year-old mother is here for two days and a night. Her zero short memory is a challenge for me.)
Oh I love what you have created. Stunning, Beautiful and delicate.
Beautiful shot of the daisy and I love the editing and textures. I'm so sorry to hear about your ex-brother in laws wife, that's awful. When you hear about people dying so young, it does make you stop and think about your own life and a reminder of how quickly it can all change.
Bright blessings,
Kathy
So true, you never know what comes so enjoy this day! Beautiful pic! :-)
really beautiful - I love all the different editing and textures you have done here.
The loss of the young lady is such a terrible tragedy. Yes too soon and too young.
Lovely editing on your flower! And many many thanks for the textures again - I must say that I truly LOVE all your textures :-) Gorgeous!!
So sorry about the tragic accident. Beautiful photo work
These shots are stunning! Your textures are fantastic.
What a tragic and shocking accident. We just never know.
gorgeous editing of the flower photo...
may we hope for such beautiful and enduring life-editing as well
I really love the second photo!!
I think the second one is my favorite. Love the soft pastel colors.
What a gorgeous flower! Love that soft purple! And so sorry for your families loss, I'll seize the day a bit more today for sure.
Lovely, soft and subtle... not always how life feels... so sorry about your ex-SIL very sad.
It's funny that your image caused me to stop and reflect before I even read your post about your ex sister-in-law. None of us knows when its our time and the hard part is trying to enjoy life to the fullest each and every day. It's just so sad that her life ended at such a young age. x
Absolutely beautiful! Great picture and texture. Wish you a nice day.
Beautiful! I love playing around in editing :)
Life is so unexpected...and short. I'm sure you heard about the Chardon School shootings. That happened in my neck of the wood. Two kids are gone, two more fighting for their lifes. Just 16 years old...
I love the pictures! I am always amazed at how you make so many beautiful pictures from just one shot!
Love the processing on the first photo and love the new textures!
You sure do have a way with this stuff. :)
Nancy, what a tragedy. A colleague's brother died suddenly last week, only 25 years old, so these issues have been on my mind. Grateful for every day I have and for those I love.
And what a difference a second makes or even one step - right? I am so sorry for this young girl and her family. sandie
your last edit is beautiful. what a terrible tragedy.
Beautiful photo! Life is so short, I'm sorry for loss of your ex-brother-in-law.
I love the stuff you do with textures.
Your texture effects are beautiful and effective. I like to play on my Paint Shop Pro. Thank you so much for the link.
So sad to hear about this tragedy. It's hard enough to lose a person who has led a full life, but to lose one's life when very young, it's doubly so.
Love your pics and Super textures!!
Life is so very short - we have to appreciate every moment we are given - and LIVE our moments to the fullest.
Beautiful work with the textures. I keep saying I need to give this texture format a try...now I must since there's one with my name on it. Ha, ha, ha!
A tragedy for sure for the family. And I know exactly what you are reflecting on...I have lost 3 family members (my ex to suicide, a cousin to suicide and my 31 yr.old goddaughter to cancer). So much has happened in such a short time since their passing, it has made me oh so thankful for all I have seen and experienced. Hugs!
Beautiful editing work Nancy! And thank you for sharing your textures with us.
So sorry to hear about this accident. Things like that certainly do cause us to reflect...
You photos are beautiful, Nancy. So, delicate!

I love your editing with the last shot...beautiful....I am so sorry for the death of this young woman..You make a huge point in making the most of our days....
Your editing looks amazing.. Such a beautiful photo.. I go hiking all the time. It would be so scary to have that happen.. Like Nancy said, We should make the most of everyday. We never know when it will be our last!!
Very nice textures!
Beautiful floral capture and love the texture processing....very nice effect. Love your textures as well! :-)
Love your first edit- has such depth to it. And thank you for sharing the textures. It's an odd feeling to describe when someone's death who you don't know affects you and kind of stays with you
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. I have heard that saying and it is so very true. We too often take tomorrow for granted.
I think I am going to have to give the video tutorial a try. You do such amazing work. Love it. So sorry to hear about the accident. Makes you stop and think!
Wonderful post-processing.
Regards and best wishes
Every day is a gift. And the humble simplicity of the daisy makes it my favorite flower. Thank you.
Beautiful flower! I'm always amazed how you take a great picture and turn it into a work of art. That really is an unexpected event. It really does make one think about how to live each day.
I love your texture edits, especially the one using Helene and Emily! Thank you for sharing your textures with us! :)
So sad to hear about the accident. We should all try to live each day to the fullest but sometimes *life* gets in the way.
I love your work!!

Nancy, I love how you edited this photo! I want to download your textures, but am not familiar with Flickr (I know, where has she been right?) Where's the dang nab download button? I'm off to study some more...
Thank you (and so sorry to hear of the girls tragic accident, it takes something like this to make us all stop and ponder our own lives!)

Beautiful original and lovely edits, so soft and stunning! Thank you for sharing, I hope to see you at Tones on Tuesday this week :o). I am sorry to hear about such a terrible tragedy and am sending out thoughts and prayers.
Having been away a bit I am commenting on all three posts...your Scavenger Hunt photos are the best. You are very talented, and what you did with the barn and the flower is amazing!
Someone once told me that flowers are meant to be given to the living, when we can enjoy them.
Regards,
Kathy
Death is such a definite thing. It scares the hell out of me...
in Greece we say that you die a good death when you die the way you lived. Maybe for her that is the case.
May she rest in peace
Love the flower.
Tragic to die so early, but at the same time, she died doing what she loved at least.
I love these tutorials... beautiful image!
Both edits are so terrific. The top image is so unique.....don't think I've seen anything quite like it. Thanks for sharing your recipe and your textures.
agreed...life is too short...on moment at a time. lovely photo!!
