I love the snow.
Mostly because I don't have to travel in it every day,
unless you count walking around the farmstead in my snow boots.
From boring brown to wonderful white in 24 hours. Amazing.
Did you receive any snow last week?
I'm so happy we did.
Hoping now we can stop worrying about
the dreaded "D" word (drought.)

Love the snow on the pines! Why do dogs always seem to go crazy in the snow? Ours used to do the same thing. Beautiful photos!
Wonderful pictures! Thanks for hosting!
These photos are all dynamite! I also love your new header.
oh you're so lucky you got snow! we still had anything stick. it snowed yesterday, quite a bit, but nothing at all stuck....we have a 30 % chance on friday night/saturday but yeah right...and besides, it's a jip to get snow on the weekend and the kids don't get a snow day out of it! love the pics, especially the one of your dogs, cute!
I love these pictures. So beautiful and peaceful ;)
I think snow scenes are like BW but not really BW, which really makes it interesting !!!!
Nice pictures...the downy woodpecker is my favorite.
Fun blog hop!
No snow here. Been a wet winter.
I've learned a lot from the blogs I read, too.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures! :)
SO pretty! I love the snow. It may be because I rarely see any!
Each and every one of these is just so artistic, you make the snow look so appealing!!!
beautiful images... and even though they are not all black and white, i love that they carry the same color tones... so easy to look at!
enjoyed your linky last week! :) Thank-you for hosting!
ps: me: patty @ findingserendipity.com

Nancy, the pic of your dogs is total awesomesauce! Love it!
I enjoyed all the photos... the German Shepherds toes playfully spread out over the snow is quite charming. The last water drip is AMAZING! And of course, I always love a fence. (nothing like the country!)
No snow in the southeast. :( Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos!
Nice work Nancy. Stay warm :)
We haven't had any snow since getting back and I'm actually looking forward to being snowed in.
Beautiful pictures! I like the little touches of color in the naturally B&W snow photos!
I always enjoy your photos, Nancy. But I especially love the snowy trees photo, and the playing dogs. And the little bird. (So hard to choose just one favorite, though.)
Your snow is beautiful! I was robbed. We had just flurries, but twenty miles away they had inches. I'm still concerned about a drought. Hopefully, we'll get some precipitation soon.
glad you had a touch of real winter, finally!
It's amazing how snow can transform a picture...these are all great shots...love the fence one with the tiny red barn in the distance...outstanding!!!
GREAT series of photos!!! You're lucky to get the snow!! We're still waiting, but at an unseasonably 50 degrees...sigh...but we did get a smigin of rain last night. We'll take it!
Thanks for hosting Rural Thursday!
What a fun set. Love the dogs romping in the snow. But that last shot of the mid-air droplet...amazing.
Kathy
What JOY to have found you here...happy to join you in a rural way.
yay, snow! send any extra our way! love the pine shot...
Sob....no snow for us, but love your images. Guess I will have to just enjoy yours.
See, there you go with another lovely bird capture again. All lovely captures of your place during the snow - particularly love that first somewhat majestic image.
Love the woodpecker -- last spring I posted about the confused young male who was tap-tapping on my downspouts to attract a wife. And what beautiful belated snow!
Wonderful shots,I went out for a walk as soon as I woke up to that snow.
No, we did not receive any snow; much to my son's disappontment...I too think it is absolutely lovely and wouldn't mind a brief snowfall but since it paralyzes NC, well, sometimes its just best not to have it. Nancy, as always your photos are superb and stunning! I love the water drip!
That is definitely real snow, Nancy! ;-) You've captured such great images with the trees, the birds, the dogs. I just realized I haven't seen many snow images on US blogs this season. (Rain here this morning, when it should be snowing.)
Love to see German Shepherd dogs at play. And the snow. Only a few drops of rain fell here.
You can't beat fresh snow can you? We haven't had any snow this year. Your pictures are lovely. Really like the one of your dogs playing in the snow.
these are amazing nancy, we got snow too....you got a little more then me ;))))
i love your doggies, being best friends and acting like brothers!
Gorgeous pics, loved the one of the dogs but I really am hard pressed to pick a favorite. We had some snowfall yesterday but the sun is out today melting it. Supposed to have more this weekend though. Stay warm.
Beautiful pictures Nancy! They remind me of why I love snow so much and keep hoping we get a little more than we did yesterday. These little teasers from Mother Nature just aren't cutting it! :-)
So jealous, I want more snow this winter!!!!
great collection of pictures. i love the fence. (:
Beautiful photos. Thanks you for share with us. Have a nice week. Greetings from Romania.
Oh, Nancy the snow is BEAUTIFUL!!! But the dogs are THE BEST!!!!...:)JP
Great post.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
No snow here lots of brown grass and ice puddles. I love your photos Nancy. Once I get a new internet server I will want to join this theme. Lots of good blogs out there. Enjoy the snow you lucky girl. B
Great photos! I love your last macro shot of the dripping water, well done. Looks like you had a nice snow, those tree are beautiful.
Wonderful winter photos! We got a tasts of snow last night...the perfect kind that sticks to the grass, bushes, and trees but not to the walks and roads. Expecting more tomorrow night but not much predicted. I am living snow days vacariously through your blog! Thanks!
It is snowing big fat fluffy flakes at the moment. It's actually quite pretty. Hopefully it won't stay though! :)
Very pretty shots!
xo Catherine
What amazing shots- and I love that you got snow! (I think you have more than us now!!!!)
I liked all the photos - but my favorite is number two with the two dogs. They are beautiful. sandie
"From boring brown to wonderful white in 24 hours."
I envy.
Great photos. The dogs look like they are having a blast!
I really like the perspective of your fence show.
I haven't stopped by your blog in far too long. it seems like I'm missing a lot, and i love your winter shots!
Btw- I tagged you in a post. No pressure to join, just thought I'd let you know.
Keep up the great edits!
Gorgeous shots, Nancy. I love the way you showed the "share" with each photo. I always get great ideas from your blog. So clever. I linked up late today and I just noticed I misspelled "Altitude". It's been a long day and I'm tired. But I'm glad to be a part of Rural Thursday. God bless.
i'm happy it finally snowed... i was worried about it!
Really stunning snow! Wow! And I love the fence shot...really a great perspective, and very different. Loved the birds, and your dogs, too. Nice photos!
Hurray for snow! That last shot of the melting snow is fabulous! What an eye and quick hand you have.
Happy to find your gorgeous blog! I'm a new follower. Found you through the Linky Blog Hop! Hope you can come visit my site, when you have a moment. http://www.eccentricleopard.com/
i too love the snow and i really enjoyed your photos.
they are simply peaceful and beautiful!
Wonderful snow pictures, it seems we only get to see snow if we travel atleast 10 hours to see it and then it has to be at the right time. I love snow. I think it last snowed here in the late 1980's.
Lucky you to get this nice snow. Your farm is beautiful covered in snow--and right, it's a lot more fun when you don't have to travel in it. Love the color settings you've chosen for these photos. Those handsome dogs! I'll be getting a new dog soon as my old friend is almost 16 yrs. Am looking on petfinders for German shepherd mixes.
Gorgeous shots. You make the snow look lovely. I am just happy that I can look at it through your lens and not my front door! LOL!! :) (visiting from This or That Thursday on Deb Duty's blog)
Wonderful photos! Thanks for hosting, I found a bunch of fellow VA bloggers! :)
Wonderful photographs.
Regards and best wishes
I love this hop and WOW! Your photographs are amazing. I especially love the image of the two playful shepherds. Please consider linking up this awesome HOP post to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop. I'm sure we'd all love to see more and to get a chance to participate too.
Great shots! The fence your husband made is awesome.
Just a little skiff of snow here in NW Montana. Thanks for hosting! Erin
Your dogs are scaring me a little.
Love the photos Nancy - and the snow : )
Lovely winter scene, I love the shot of the dogs playing, very cute! Have a wonderful weekend!
Oh gosh! I've got lots to say! First, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Camera-Critters photo! Not only is it a fantastic photo (as all of your photos are), but my dad has a wolf-dog, who is mostly wolf, but a small part GSD. Second... Rural Thursday??? Oh how very exciting! I can SO participate in this, considering I live in the middle of nowhere, aka farm country, and we have a farm (fitting, eh?). Now I'm all sorts of excited, cuz not only do I love your photos and your blog, but now you've started a meme I can look forward to participating in! WoooHooo... you've made my week!
"From boring brown to wonderful white in 24 hours." You can say that again. I was getting really tired of the dull scenery and then we had just enough snow to make everything look fresh and new again.
These wintry shots are great. I love seeing the dogs play in the snow.
Great pics at the end of the fence do I see a red barn?
I am having a give away as well. everyone is invited!
