Rural Thursday Blog Hop #2

As I mentioned previously, we received our long-awaited snow on Saturday.

The windbreak has been transformed.

I love the snow.

Mostly because I don't have to travel in it every day,
unless you count walking around the farmstead in my snow boots.

From boring brown to wonderful white in 24 hours. Amazing.

Did you receive any snow last week?

I'm so happy we did.

Hoping now we can stop worrying about
the dreaded "D" word (drought.)

~

Welcome to Rural Thursday #2!

I was blown away by last week's participants.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I met many new friends and learned some awesome new things about rural living and you

Love!

 ~♡~

Now, let's get to Rural Thursday #2

Love the snow on the pines! Why do dogs always seem to go crazy in the snow? Ours used to do the same thing. Beautiful photos!

I enjoyed all the photos... the German Shepherds toes playfully spread out over the snow is quite charming. The last water drip is AMAZING! And of course, I always love a fence. (nothing like the country!)

I always enjoy your photos, Nancy. But I especially love the snowy trees photo, and the playing dogs. And the little bird. (So hard to choose just one favorite, though.)

Your snow is beautiful! I was robbed. We had just flurries, but twenty miles away they had inches. I'm still concerned about a drought. Hopefully, we'll get some precipitation soon.

See, there you go with another lovely bird capture again. All lovely captures of your place during the snow - particularly love that first somewhat majestic image.

Love the woodpecker -- last spring I posted about the confused young male who was tap-tapping on my downspouts to attract a wife. And what beautiful belated snow!

Wonderful shots,I went out for a walk as soon as I woke up to that snow.

Tracy said...

No, we did not receive any snow; much to my son's disappontment...I too think it is absolutely lovely and wouldn't mind a brief snowfall but since it paralyzes NC, well, sometimes its just best not to have it. Nancy, as always your photos are superb and stunning! I love the water drip!

Evelyn S. said...

That is definitely real snow, Nancy! ;-) You've captured such great images with the trees, the birds, the dogs. I just realized I haven't seen many snow images on US blogs this season. (Rain here this morning, when it should be snowing.)

Inger said...

Love to see German Shepherd dogs at play. And the snow. Only a few drops of rain fell here.

Ellie said...

You can't beat fresh snow can you? We haven't had any snow this year. Your pictures are lovely. Really like the one of your dogs playing in the snow.

Gorgeous pics, loved the one of the dogs but I really am hard pressed to pick a favorite. We had some snowfall yesterday but the sun is out today melting it. Supposed to have more this weekend though. Stay warm.

Beautiful pictures Nancy! They remind me of why I love snow so much and keep hoping we get a little more than we did yesterday. These little teasers from Mother Nature just aren't cutting it! :-)

Wonderful winter photos! We got a tasts of snow last night...the perfect kind that sticks to the grass, bushes, and trees but not to the walks and roads. Expecting more tomorrow night but not much predicted. I am living snow days vacariously through your blog! Thanks!

It is snowing big fat fluffy flakes at the moment. It's actually quite pretty. Hopefully it won't stay though! :)

Gorgeous shots, Nancy. I love the way you showed the "share" with each photo. I always get great ideas from your blog. So clever. I linked up late today and I just noticed I misspelled "Altitude". It's been a long day and I'm tired. But I'm glad to be a part of Rural Thursday. God bless.

Wonderful snow pictures, it seems we only get to see snow if we travel atleast 10 hours to see it and then it has to be at the right time. I love snow. I think it last snowed here in the late 1980's.

Faye said...

Lucky you to get this nice snow. Your farm is beautiful covered in snow--and right, it's a lot more fun when you don't have to travel in it. Love the color settings you've chosen for these photos. Those handsome dogs! I'll be getting a new dog soon as my old friend is almost 16 yrs. Am looking on petfinders for German shepherd mixes.

Gorgeous shots. You make the snow look lovely. I am just happy that I can look at it through your lens and not my front door! LOL!! :) (visiting from This or That Thursday on Deb Duty's blog)

Oh gosh! I've got lots to say! First, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Camera-Critters photo! Not only is it a fantastic photo (as all of your photos are), but my dad has a wolf-dog, who is mostly wolf, but a small part GSD. Second... Rural Thursday??? Oh how very exciting! I can SO participate in this, considering I live in the middle of nowhere, aka farm country, and we have a farm (fitting, eh?). Now I'm all sorts of excited, cuz not only do I love your photos and your blog, but now you've started a meme I can look forward to participating in! WoooHooo... you've made my week!

"From boring brown to wonderful white in 24 hours." You can say that again. I was getting really tired of the dull scenery and then we had just enough snow to make everything look fresh and new again.
These wintry shots are great. I love seeing the dogs play in the snow.
