Rural Thursday Blog Hop #1

Welcome to the 1st edition of Rural Thursday Blog Hop.

Rural Thursday is a Weekly Blog Hop where participants can share information and photos about what's currently happening in and around their rural/country/farm home.

Here's how you can join in:

1. Publish a blog post about
  • general information describing what's happening in your country/rural/farm life,
or a post relating to a rural-themed subject that will benefit all Rural Thursday readers and participants,
such as
  • farming,
  • rural-themed photography,
  • recipes,
  • homesteading tips,
  • critters and pets,
  • DIY projects,
  • rural-themed giveaways
  • anything and everything that embraces living the simple life.

2. Please make sure to add the Rural Thursday button to your blog post and link back here.

3. Please link to your actual post and not your home page. Only one post per person per week, please.
Duplicate links will be deleted.

4. If you don't have a blog, you are welcome to leave a comment below our post regarding what special things are happening in your rural world.

5. Please consider visiting, commenting and following at least 5 other participants.

Your hosts for Rural Thursday are Nancy @ A Rural Journal and Lisa @ Two Bears Farm

Oh Nancy you never cease to amaze me with your creativity. This is a great idea. Alas I have already posted. I will try to get in on this next week.I am doing a farming piece tomorrow.
I love that you always take the most ordinary farm item or any item for that matter and turn it into a true work of photo art.
Thanks Nancy and Two Bears Farm for the interesting theme!
Good luck it should be fun. Later B

Gorgeous picture! Good luck on your blog hop! Too bad I live in a city now and not in rural NJ!

Sounds like a fun and informative meme. I live in a very small town, so consider myself rural. There are only 2 houses between me and fields, plus I grew up on a farm, so love all things rural. I can't participate this week, but maybe soon.

This sounds like fun event Nancy. Your pic is intruiging as always.

There is something grandly nostalgic about an old iron gate on a farm. Love it!

Wishing you a happy week!

If all goes well, I should start in the very near future an endeavor on natural farming here at Panglao Island, Bohol in the Philippines; thus, I'll be able to make regular contributions to the group of whatever insight I gain from such.

Thank you so much for visiting my site.

Elaine A. said...

Love the perspective in that photo.

And now you make me wish I had a homestead... ;)

I'm late, Nancy...but I was gone all day. A husband-chauffeured photo drive made it possible for me to take part in Rural Thursday. Thanks!

I'll be putting this on my list of new memes. :)

A beautiful, subtle photograph. I love the colour, the texture and the contrast between the clarity of the gate and the softness of the green grass.

Back with Friday's Fences... I took a similar photo on my little drive yesterday: my gate(s) are green. I truly need to work on a macro shot, though.

Crafty Gardener said...

great fence and gate photo for Friday Fences. I'll see about participating in your Rural Thursday blog hop next week.

Ida said...

I like your fence photo (very rustic) and hope to pop by the other enteries. We "city" folk get our dose of country the easy way...viewing your photos!

Gail Dixon (Louisiana Belle) said...

Good turnout! If my mother wasn't in the hospital, I'd make the rounds to visit; maybe next time. :)

gtyyup said...

Thank you for hosting!! Rural living and agriculture are so important!

Love the depth of field in your photo as well as the color tones...nice!

Apparently I have committed a grave mistake by linking several posts to Rural Thursday, although I didn't notice any cautionary notes about linking only once. (The warning may be there; I'm just unable to see it.) I apologize to all participants who feel overwhelmed by my multiple links, and ask the blog hosts to please remove all my links but one--or all of them, if they prefer. After all, it's their blog! Thank you.

Yvonne said...

So sad I missed this! I'll link up next time for sure :D Posts about my horse count, right?!

Thanks for letting this fellow join!
