Fleeting.

Every day has been so short, every hour so fleeting, every minute so filled with the life I love

that time for me has fled on too swift a wing.

~Aga Khan III

Not one to spend just one designated holiday being thankful,
I strive to look for small miracles each day
and hold them in my mind and in my heart,
if only for a few brief seconds.

But time does not stand still.
The world is in perpetual flux.

Embracing gratitude keeps these
experiences with me,
long after the moment has passed.

Oh.my. Oh my oh my. That second photo, in context with the first, is just so... can't think of the right word, but it's just so deep in it's movement and texture. I would like to net that everyone who views that photo can hear the flapping of the wings as clear as I can. Wonderful capturing and skillful editing.

I really like the texture treatment for both shots, but when surrounded by the words of Aga Khan III and your own, this becomes an amazing post.

I too, have taken on more of an attitude of gratitude these past months. I have everything I need and then some... what's not to be thankful about?!

Lovely shots to illustrate your prose... days indeed are fleeting. In one's 20s the future seems to stretch out forever but now in my early 60s the end of the road seems much closer and each day therefore more precious and the need to spend each one well and with gratitude...

Good point, Nancy. I spent an hour today bonding with a tree. Silly, but I needed some strong shelter, and the tree was there for leaning on.

You know - I thought I left a comment early this a.m. (right after Kathryn Dyche) I must have clicked away before a word verification or something. So glad I came back to thank you for sharing these beautiful pieces with Photo Art Friday. I so enjoy visiting here and seeing your amazing artwork.

Just gorgeous! Wildlife photography of any kind impresses me with the patience needed to capture the critter being still. All my efforts look like your second shot. Your first one looks very painterly and elegant.
