Every day has been so short, every hour so fleeting, every minute so filled with the life I love
that time for me has fled on too swift a wing.
~Aga Khan III
Not one to spend just one designated holiday being thankful,
I strive to look for small miracles each day
and hold them in my mind and in my heart,
if only for a few brief seconds.
But time does not stand still.
The world is in perpetual flux.
Embracing gratitude keeps these
experiences with me,
long after the moment has passed.

I love the photo of the bird with the texture. Very nice!
Great images and quotes, especially love that first one. Hope you're enjoying the holiday weekend.
Oh.my. Oh my oh my. That second photo, in context with the first, is just so... can't think of the right word, but it's just so deep in it's movement and texture. I would like to net that everyone who views that photo can hear the flapping of the wings as clear as I can. Wonderful capturing and skillful editing.
I really like the texture treatment for both shots, but when surrounded by the words of Aga Khan III and your own, this becomes an amazing post.
I LOVE that second shot!
Great use of textures!
I too, have taken on more of an attitude of gratitude these past months. I have everything I need and then some... what's not to be thankful about?!
Incredible. B

Great theme! You captured it beautifully!
love that first shot and the effect you gave it, but always appreciate a good 'fly bye' shot as well! :)
Beautiful work - images and words!
Lovely shots to illustrate your prose... days indeed are fleeting. In one's 20s the future seems to stretch out forever but now in my early 60s the end of the road seems much closer and each day therefore more precious and the need to spend each one well and with gratitude...
Good point, Nancy. I spent an hour today bonding with a tree. Silly, but I needed some strong shelter, and the tree was there for leaning on.
The whole post is beautifully poetic from the words to the textured photos. It definitely creates a mood!!
Your photography, quote and words are beautiful and poignant.
A beautiful thought and stunning photos and so appropriate as we mourn the loss of Jake who as you know was with us for too short of a time.

Thank you, Nancy for participating in 'Weekly Top Shot!' I do love the textures you chose to enhance your little house sparrow...
So true, this made me weepy, seems right now everything is making me weepy. No doubt its loosing Kota but how true...every minute of happiness, love and life... a wonderful thing.
Inspiration once again Nancy...lovely post!
Stroll into your farm in this lazy Sunday morning.
I am rewarded with surprises: your words and the photos.
It is a very good morning.
Gorgeous texture work and the words are illustrated so well with these two images, Nancy.
Absolutely lovely! Thank you.
WOW! Both photos and words profound. Thanks to you, Nancy.
Beautiful pictures.
Love both the pictures and the poem. Everyday should be celebrated! :)
You know - I thought I left a comment early this a.m. (right after Kathryn Dyche) I must have clicked away before a word verification or something. So glad I came back to thank you for sharing these beautiful pieces with Photo Art Friday. I so enjoy visiting here and seeing your amazing artwork.

Just gorgeous! Wildlife photography of any kind impresses me with the patience needed to capture the critter being still. All my efforts look like your second shot. Your first one looks very painterly and elegant.
I do believe that photo has a perfect place to live in my family room...with the words to that beautiful poem framed with it.
Awww, lovely words, Nancy! A fab texture work and terrific image. Thanks for sharing :)
Great textures! Beautiful photos!
You are such an artist. I love the painting like quality the texture give the photograph. Nicely done.
