This is our new dog toy. A pink piggie with a squeaker inside. I had to take a photo of it before the cute little guy is slathered in slobber and dog hair. I also bought a yellow duck (must be fair and buy two of everything,) but I thought two photos of a dog toy was pushing the loser envelope just a tad. So I restrained myself and for that, I am proud.
This is what the sky looked like yesterday morning before the rain. Black and ugly. I was sure we were going to get hammered, but surprisingly, just a heavy rain followed. It was in the 70s and cloudy for the rest of the day, which was a welcome respite from the high 90s the day before. See the heart shape in the left hand corner? That must have been Mother Nature's way of saying, it won't be so bad this time...
Speaking of nature, we have a new baby on the farm. Well, we had three, but two disappeared from the time I discovered them to the time I was able to get the coop door blocked. The guinea eggs were hatched by one of our Royal Palm turkey hens and she's not the greatest mother. Whenever I enter the coop, she tries to run out, leaving her little baby in the dust. So I blocked the freakin' door with an old window. You hatched it, you take care of it. That's my motto.
Okay. Just this one more. I promise.

ReplyDeleteYou hatched it, you take care of it. Sounds like a good motto to me!
ReplyDeleteNancy great photos. When the need to snap happens you just have to go with it. They are great. B
ReplyDelete:) So cute :)
ReplyDeleteTee-hee, love the piggie peeking around the bloom! Awesome sky shot!
ReplyDeleteFUN! Love the little parts and pieces of your day and life!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many....dog toy pictures? :-)
ReplyDeleteA fun post Nancy. Your remark to the delinquent mom is what some mothers need to say to their daughters! Have to admit that I have never taken pics of dog toys and I used to have many. :)
ReplyDeleteI laugh whenever i find a new toy they are already all over my house.I just have to say the word squeaky and one will arrive close to me fairly soon.
ReplyDeleteCute chick and piggy!
ReplyDeleteI just had 9 chicks hatch and mother hen has been a great mom :)

ReplyDeleteI would love to see some rain clouds like that roll in here! We so need rain.
Love the sky! And the toy ...pre-dog use, lol! It is almost too cute to give to the pooches! Turkeys,in my experience, are always bad mothers.

ReplyDeleteWe have a huge box of dog toys that our girls like more than the dog sometimes! And they would LOVE that pink piggy. Very cute. I also have a WW linky today.
ReplyDeleteWe could use some of those storm clouds - and just get rain!

Uh, do you have any idea how many cute toys I've bought in the nearly 3 weeks the puppy has been here and how hard it is to NOT post a picture of the puppy with it? I may need therapy if this continues! :-)))
