Your Sunday Best: Week 12 and Giveaway Announcement

I’m so pleased to welcome my friend, Bonnie, author of Pixel Dust Photo Art and Original Art Studio, as my first giveaway sponsor!

With a vast collection of amazing textures in her PDPA Texture Shoppe, Bonnie is definitely making a splash  in the pool of talented artists creating digital textures.

I discovered textures not too long ago, and now find myself hopelessly and happily addicted to using them in my photo editing. I'm constantly visiting Bonnie's blog to see what new textures she's cooking up. And because Bonnie is a generous and sweet blogger, she often creates free textures for you and I to download. Love this!

As my submission for YSB today, here are my before and after photos, using Bonnie's latest free texture, Dappled Dawn.

Before

After with Dappled Dawn Texture by Pixel Dust Photo Art

~Now for the good stuff~

Bonnie is making available her Pixel Dust Texture Collection I, 36 textures in all with a retail value of $30 -- as a giveaway to one lucky YSB participant

Each of these actions will equal one entry in the giveaway:

1. Visit Bonnie's Texture Shoppe at Pixel Dust Photo Art, and come back here and tell me which of her free textures, listed under the Free For You tab, you like.

2. Use one or more of Bonnie's textures to edit one of your photos, blog about it, let me know about it in a comment to this post -- and submit it to Your Sunday Best, using the linky below.

3. Follow A Rural Journal via Google Friend Connect and let me know about it in a comment on this post.

4. Follow Pixel Dust Photo Art via Google Friend Connect and let me know about it in a comment on this post.

5. Share this post on your Facebook page and let me know about it in a comment on this post.

6. Tweet about this giveaway and let me know about it in a comment on this post.

If you love the look of textures but aren’t sure how to add them to your photos… here is a tutorial that explains how to add textures in Photoshop Elements (PSE.)

Don't have PSE? You can also use free software called Gimp, which is very similar to PSE. Go to my Tutorials page above that explains how to download Gimp and add textures to your photos.

Because of the July 4th holiday next weekend, I will keep this linky open until Tuesday, July 5th.  The winner of the giveaway will be announced on the following Saturday, July 9th at 5:00 p.m. when a new Your Sunday Best Photo Challenge will be posted.

There will be no new Your Sunday Best next weekend.

The texture stuff is so cool! I have Photoshop but don't think it's elements? I'm not so good at using it. Obviously.

But I love what you did with the photo! And I'll be by to link up tomorrow.

Truly love both versions. One looks like photography and the other looks like a painting.

Laura...it's amazing what you've done with the photo! I continue to be surprised at each use of that texture; each one is lovely, however. Your resulting photo is beautifully dramatic.

5. I visited Bonnie and I like most the second and second last textures. Even so I don´t know how to work with it till now. If I have time *seufz* I will have a look on your tutorials for gimp. I have downloaded gimp but don´t know how to work with it. So I´m only using Picasa till now.

I love your hollyhock photo Nancy! it's delicious. I don't use textures, so I'll pass on the giveaway, but thanks very much for hosting Your Sunday Best! and have a great week.

Your photo transformation of the beautiful hollyhock is amazing - I love it. I also like to work with textures, and I'm going to check out Bonnie's site right now.

Hi Nancy, This is the first time I have visited your blog - beautiful with lovely photos! And what timing...for a giveaway! I checked out the free textures on Bonnie's site (too many beautiful ones to pick a favorite - maybe vintage blues) I used 4 of them for my photo, which I posted on my site (with a link back to you) and added to the Sunday Best Challenge link. Thanks for the chance to win!

Number 31!! The truck of my dreams! To bad one would totally die in Texas without AC in a vehicle. Otherwise I would be driving a redone old truck like that! Very cool!

Bonnie's textures are awesome! I'd like to be in that giveaway! My favorite of her free textures is "Vintage Blues 1".
